I saw the Exorcist when I was around 12 and it freaked the fucking shit out of me. I mean, I just lost it when she turned her head all the way around. I might have screamed, I don't remember, but I turned the tv off real fuckin' quick.

What movie/band/tv special made you lose your shit as a kid?

I saw the 1998 remake of Night of the Living Dead when I was about 10. Scared the shit out of me. I was having panic attacks for a while thereafter. I didn't even realize I was scared until I tried to go to sleep that night, which allowed the movie to really scar me.

This was followed by about 6 years where I avoided horror films like they were the plague. Then I finally watched The Evil Dead. Somewhere in those six years I got past the point where I could watch a horror movie and not be effected by it once the ending credits had rolled. Since then I've had a passion for horror films.

Exorcist got me too. I watched the whole thing, but those images of that face definitely stayed with me that night in bed.

I used to watch a lot of educational programming on the public television stations. Stuff about over population and pollution coming out of the 70's, plus all that cold war bullshit, and it seemed to paint a pretty grim picture. Then someone recommends Soylent Green and I was not at all pleased with the prospects of a future.

Only thing I found scary in The Exorcist was the spider walk. But obviously the movie didn't scare me too bad, as I have Captain Howdy's face on my desktop as a background. I felt it would be more original than having the HAL 9000, while still being just as good of a clever movie toss-up.

The one that got me was the original Dawn of the Dead.

Though, fortunately, when I saw it for that first time, I got to feel some rather nice boobies. Horror films and impressionable chicks are always a good thing.

Yes! When I'm out walking the dog at 2am, there are four things to think about which creep me out every time:

1. The last scene from the '78 version of Body Snatchers.
2. The Bob The Demon scene from Fire Walk With Me where he's behind the bureau.
3. The little boy from Ju-On.
4. The spider walk from The Exorcist.

I haven't seen Fire Walk With Me or Ju-On. I'll check them out.

Eraserhead scared me a lot. My dad would always make me watch these fucked up movies, but that one just creeped me out as a kid. Faces of Death didn't scare me at all, but I always remember thinking about some of the scenes and just not understanding. We always used to go to this RAD place called "Video: Movies to Go" that was basically a Blockbuster, or Hollywood video but filled with solely Horror, WWF and Porn movies. I remember it closed down around 2001 and they still only rented out Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo games. That was the place...

Every time I see or think about a Hare Krishna, I think about Kermit the Frog.

When I was about 8 or 9, Alien made me protest to keep the hall light on at bedtime.
